Power Symposium

LAS VEGAS, NV. (Dec. 30, 2010) –- Specialty retailers catering to wellness needs have a new opportunity to gain knowledge and grow their business at an upcoming conference designed exclusively for their industry. Amoena, the global leader in breast care product design and manufacturing, and Julius Zorn Inc. (Juzo), the leading medical compression garment manufacturer, are sponsoring the first annual Providing Opportunities for Wellness, Health and Renewal (POWER) Symposium, geared toward Durable Medical Equipment (DME) providers, women’s and hospital boutiques, Orthotics and Prosthetics practitioners (O&Ps) and medical centers.

The two companies are bringing together industry leaders, specialty retailers and medical professionals in Las Vegas, March 6 - 8, 2011 to exchange ideas about ways to re-energize business, better connect with customers and gain a new perspective on wellness.

“Amoena is genuinely committed to developing new ideas in our industry and collaborating with our retailers, which is why we are hosting the POWER Symposium,” says Phillip Sporidis, President, Amoena USA Corporation. “In this setting, we will promote education and discussion among our retail base to help bolster their businesses.”

The three-day symposium, to be held at Paris/Bally’s, Las Vegas, will span topics ranging from surgical trends to business solutions and feature workshops that address the needs of consumers, with a special focus on women. The schedule includes:

  • A variety of advanced educational courses approved for CEU credits
  • Q&A workshops hosted by representatives from Medicare and the Board of Certification/Accreditation, International (BOC) to explain accreditation; medical record documentation; coverage; claims submission and more
  • Sessions examining current surgical trends in today’s vein practices, breast surgery and lymphedema and the products that promote recovery
  • A fashion show featuring the latest products from a variety of suppliers, including Amoena and Juzo
  • Amazing discounts for attendees at the Retail Zone, a unique buying experience in a mock retail setting.

“Attendees will gain real business insights and have the opportunity to explore trends with leading authorities in the field,” says Tom Musone, Marketing Director, Juzo. “Amoena and Juzo have rich histories in designing products that enhance a person's lifestyle. The POWER Symposium builds upon that philosophy. We are all coming together with a shared purpose – to promote wellness through products and services.”

The event keynote speaker, Carolyn Finch, MS SLP, will share how wellness plays into business success and other ways to positively impact retailers’ bottom line. Finch is the author of Universal Handtalk and co-author of the Wellness Path and Dynamic Health. An advocate of self empowerment and taking action to improve your health, performance and success, she is a sought-after authority. Finch’s energy and expertise have been tapped by several Fortune 500 companies, as well as by news and entertainment sources such as CNBC, BBC Worldwide, The Ellen DeGeneres Show and numerous magazines, television and radio shows.

The symposium will wrap up March 8, but interested attendees can register to take the Juzo Advanced Compression course or the Amoena Advanced Fit course on March 9.

“We look forward to a successful event with an open exchange of ideas and best business practices,” says Sporidis. “Our hope is that attendees will come away from the symposium with a renewed excitement in their business and the knowledge and tools to further their own success. Together we can all create an even better buying experience for our female consumer base.”
